Harper & Jim

Opening Hours: We are now open every day from 10am - 4pm (last entry 3pm). Please Book in Advance of your visit - this can be done up to a couple of hours before your visit! This allows us to limit visitor numbers so that you can easily distance from other households and have a safe trip.

We are closely following Government advice and have made some changes to the site to keep you, our team and our animals safe during this time - please see our Reopening FAQ for more information about this. Thank you for your support!

Brockswood Animal Sanctuary is based in Sedgley, West Midlands in the UK. We care for and rehabilitate sick, injured, abused and in many cases abandoned and unwanted animals; giving them a safe and happy Forever Home here with us, whilst also endeavouring to restore and renovate the 'Cotwall End' site. Learn More

We don't receive funding from the Council or Government, and we are completely reliant on the kindness and generosity of others in order to keep the sanctuary open and care for all of our animals. Every little helps and we are extremely grateful for your support - our work and successes are only possible thanks to your help and generosity!

Reopening Update 17/04

We are OPENING TODAY! As so many of you have told us how much you want to visit, although we still have work to do, we have decided to open and continue working (safely) while you are here. Over the past few months, we’ve had to implement both Coronavirus and Bird Flu precautions to keep our team and animals completely safe, as well as ironing out some issues that the winter has caused us, and we still have a little work to do first so please bear with us looking a little rough around the edges in some areas - we're working harder than ever right now and have big plans for the year!

A HUGE thank you to all of our team for the many extra hours put in to m

ake this happen!

Goat Rescue

When we heard about this little goat with a clock ticking against him, we just had to try to help him, and we are so happy to tell you that thanks to the help of our Goat Guardians who supported our appeal, we were able to step in and save Ollie from being put to sleep!

He is currently in a separate paddock from our other goats as all of our animals undergo a quarantine period when they come in which gives us chance to monitor their health and make sure he can’t pass anything on to our goats or vice-versa. You also raised the funds needed to pay for his first vet check, all of his preventative treatments, as well as food and treats to spoil him with while he’s on his own - don’t worry, he’ll get to join his new goat family as soon as all of the necessary checks have been completed, and you should be able to come and see him very soon. Stay tuned for updates!

Animal Transport Trailer Appeal

Thank you to Lillie at Moo Dog Training for very kindly setting up a fundraiser to raise the funds needed to purchase an animal transport trailer! It may not be something you have thought about but transporting animals can be quite difficult - as you can imagine, goats and pigs don’t fit in the back of a car and there are strict laws about the way that these animals should be transported. As we don't have our own trailer, we are frequently unable to help animals in need as we simply cannot get them here ourselves.

Our own animal transport trailer would enable us to rescue more animals, and help us to care for our own as we would be able to pick up bulkier donations that we are sometimes offered and unable to transport - such as bales of hay and straw. This would also enable us to transport our animals to specialist vets when they are unable to bring their equipment to us - such as when Daisy the pig had to go to Liverpool vet university for a procedure that could not have been carried out here at the sanctuary!

Thank you for your help.
