We are now OPEN every day throughout the summer holidays, 10am to 4pm (last entry 3pm)
We are currently experiencing very high temperatures at the sanctuary and putting all of our efforts into keeping our residents cool and comdortable.
Thank you for understanding while we take this time out to focus entirely on them.

Volunteering
We try to keep our admin costs as low as possible so that we can put the majority of our funds directly towards the animals. We, therefore, rely very much on the kindness of our amazing volunteers. Why not come and join the team, you would be made most welcome! Whether you're working directly with our residents, or helping out elsewhere on-site, it all goes towards ensuring that the animals get the best care possible, and allowing us to continue to take in and rescue unwanted, neglected and abused animals in the future!
Whether you have a lot of time on your hands or just a couple of hours, any help is most appreciated!
Please note we are unfortunately unable to accept volunteers under the age of 18 at this time.

Fundraising
Looking after our residents costs a lot of money, over £3,000 a week in fact, and we would love your help to raise the important funds needed to continue our important work!

Conservation
This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in being involved in local environmental conservation. We are doing our best to create a sanctuary for wildlife alongside our residents and you can help us to do this!

Maintenance, Gardening & Site Improvement
One of our main goals is to get our site back to its former glory, and even better! Sadly previous owners let it fall into disrepair and we are still picking up the pieces. We desperately need people who can help us out with site maintenance, building, general DIY, and gardening! If you are skilled in these areas, or just have a genuine passion for them and would like to help us, please do get in touch!

Animal Care
This role involves general animal care, such as providing our rescued residents with food and water, helping to clean enclosures, and supporting our sanctuary team. It is certainly not a glamorous job, and involves a lot of sometimes hard and dirty work!
PLEASE NOTE: This role is very popular, and due to high demand, there is currently a very long waiting list! You are more than welcome to still apply, but if you don't hear back within 2 weeks please assume you have been added to the waiting list.

Visitor Support
This is an ideal position for those who enjoy working with and talking to people; these important team members help us to greet and assist our supporters whilst visiting the sanctuary, helping to make their visit memorable, safe and enjoyable.

Living History
Do you have a passion for living history? This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children or is enthusiastic about Viking and Anglo-Saxon history! Your work will be focused on "Hrafnaseti", our small Viking Settlement project here at the sanctuary.
